Robert Brill is a founding Managing Partner of Newlight Associates and was previously a General Partner of PolyVentures, venture capital funds whose principal investment focus was on early stage investments in technology companies. Before joining PolyVentures, he was a successful "turnaround" CEO at two technology companies, Algorex Corporation and Sipex Corporation. Previously, Mr. Brill served as General Manager of Harris Corporation's CMOS Semiconductor Division, where he was responsible for launching the world's first two commercial 16-bit CMOS microprocessors. From 1972 to 1980 he was employed by the IBM Corporation where he held various positions in engineering and management. Mr. Brill was a founding member of the Technical Advisory Board of the Semiconductor Research Corporation. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Brown University and a B.A. and a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Lehigh University, both with honors. Mr. Brill holds multiple patents and invention disclosures.
Stephen J. Getsy is the founder and CEO of On-Line Ventures, a private equity investment firm focused exclusively on emerging growth companies that utilize online technologies to solve business problems, increase productivity/reduce costs, or create new business opportunities. Mr. Getsy has over 35 years' hands-on technical and management experience in the information technology industry with such leading companies as IBM, ADP, and Fiserv. He has been a senior executive in a number of successful growth companies and management buyouts, completing a number of successful IPO's and strategic company sales. Mr. Getsy has experience as a member of the board of directors of a number of public and private companies. He also is an investor and advisor to a number of leading private equity firms. Mr. Getsy graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. degree in Mathematics/Education. He also earned an M.S. degree in Computer Science from New York University and an Executive MBA from the Columbia University Business School.
David J. Heinsma is the founder of Heinsma Advisory, LLC, offering strategic merger and acquisition advice to select clients. He was also the co-founder of Heinsa Corporation, a boutique investment firm that specialized in mergers and acquisitions and private equity financings, originally Lundquist Heinsma Corporation. David is a former officer of Alpha Research Corporation, the investment advisor and distributor of the Alpha group of mutual funds. He also practiced law with Hull, Towill & Norman, Augusta, GA, a general civil practice firm.
David has been on the past board of director service for Financial Service Corporation, a national broker-dealer for independent financial planners, Alliance Petroleum Corporation, a roll-up of oil and gas syndication partnerships and managers, Gibbes Island Limited Partnership, a developer of a private national golf club, and Employease, Inc., Financial Service Corporation. His current board service is LHC Petroleum Corporation and 401k Exchange, Inc.
David graduated from Harvard College with an A.B. and is also a graduate of University of Virginia Law School.
Michael McMorrow is Chief Financial Officer of Newlight Associates. Before joining Newlight he was a Vice President in the Finance Division at Goldman Sachs & Co., where he held various positions in risk management, new product development, project management and product control. Prior to working at Goldman Sachs, Mr. McMorrow was a senior accountant at Deloitte & Touche. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University and an M.B.A from New York University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
W. Edward Scheetz In July 1997, Mr. Scheetz co founded NorthStar Capital Investment Corp. with David T. Hamamoto, and currently is the Co Chairman of its Board of Directors and its Co Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Scheetz also serves on the boards of NorthStar Capital Investment Corp., NorthStar Realty Finance Corp., 401Kexchange.com and tutor.com and serves on the Investment Committee of NS Advisors. Prior to founding NorthStar Capital, Mr. Scheetz was a partner at Apollo Real Estate Advisors from 1993 to 1997, where he was responsible for the investment activities of Apollo Real Estate Investment Fund I and II. He received an A.B. in economics from Princeton University.
